We’re excited to announce our partnership with STRONG by Zumba®, a revolutionary high-intensity program where every move is synced to the beat. This follow-along cardio workout featuring Fitplan trainer Michelle Lewin is a first for our iOS app, and we’re thrilled to share it with our Fitplan Fam.

What is STRONG by Zumba®?

STRONG by Zumba® is a high-intensity cardio workout that uses plyometrics and body weight (no equipment required) to burn calories and fat. Unlike the original Zumba, STRONG by Zumba® is not a dance workout, but you’ll definitely be squatting, lunging and kickboxing to beats custom-produced by world-famous DJs like Timbaland and Steve Aoki.

In STRONG by Zumba®’s words:

STRONG by Zumba® combines body weight, muscle conditioning, cardio and plyometric training moves synced to original music that has been specifically designed to match every single move. Every squat, every lunge, every burpee is driven by the music, helping you make it to that last rep, and maybe even five more.

In a one-hour class you will burn calories while toning arms, legs, abs and glutes. Plyometric or explosive moves like high knees, burpees, and jumping jacks are interchanged with isometric moves like lunges, squats, and kickboxing. STRONG by Zumba® instructors change up the music and moves frequently to make sure you’re always challenged to the max.

How can I stream STRONG by Zumba® videos on Fitplan?

Streaming is easy. Just fire up the app, tap the discover tab and find STRONG by Zumba® under the Freestyle tab. Then, just press play! You can also stream to your Apple TV using Airplay.

Can I do STRONG by Zumba® on my Current Fitplan?

Absolutely! Michelle recommends two options:

  • Use it as a 20-minute warmup, then go straight to the weights.
  • Or, implement it as cardio after your workout when you want to really burn the remaining energy stored in your body (also known as fat).
